Lori A Blauwet MD, MA
Assistant Professor Medicine, Mayo Clinic, Rochester, MinnesotaDr. Blauwet completed her undergraduate work at the University of Northern Iowa in Cedar Falls, Iowa and a Master of Arts degree at the Pacific School of Religion in Berkeley, California. She earned her medical degree at Mayo Medical School and subsequently completed her internship, residency, and cardiology fellowship at the Mayo Clinic in Rochester Minnesota. She then spent one year pursuing clinical research at the Hatter Institute for Cardiovascular Research in Africa in Cape Town, South Africa.
Dr. Blauwet joined the staff of the Cardiovascular Division at Mayo Clinic, Rochester, Minnesota, where she is currently an Assistant Professor of Medicine. She is also an Honorary Research Associate in the Department of Medicine at the Hatter Institute for Cardiovascular Research in Africa, in Cape Town, South Africa.
Dr. Blauwet is an active member of the American College of Cardiology, the American Heart Association, and the American Society of Echocardiography and serves as a reviewer for numerous cardiovascular and women’s health journals. Her primary clinical and research interests are heart disease in women (particularly pregnancy-associated heart disease), sex differences in cardiac disease, myocarditis, prosthetic valves and echocardiography.
