Leila Montaser Kouhsari, MD, PhD, is a neurologist at the Department of Neurology, Brigham and Women's Hospital. She trained in systems neuroscience and imaging during her PhD at New York University and her postdoctoral training at California Institute of Technology. She has been a fellow in the Movement Disorders Center at Columbia University and completed her neurology residency at the Icahn School of Medicine at Mount Sinai in New York City. She earned her MD from the Iran University of Medical Sciences. His current research focus is on understanding the circuitry involved in cognitive impairment in neurodegenerative diseases, especially Parkinson's disease. She focuses on using behavioral, biological, and imaging measures to identify Parkinson's disease patients at risk for developing cognitive impairment.
