Lauren E. Oberlin PhD
Associate Investigator, AdventHealth Neuroscience Institute, Orlando, FloridaDr. Oberlin is a clinical psychologist specializing in geriatric neuropsychology and clinical translational research in aging. She received dual PhDs in Clinical Psychology and Biological & Health Psychology from the University of Pittsburgh. Dr. Oberlin’s research examines predictors and modifiable risk factors for cognitive decline and dementia, and how this data can be used to guide treatment development. She also explores behavioral interventions that promote neuroplasticity in late-life, including physical activity and digital cognitive training, and strategies to optimize the potency and efficacy of promising disease-modifying treatments. Dr. Oberlin is the Principal Investigator of an NIH-funded K23 Early Career Development Award examining the impacts of an investigational digital therapeutic on mood, cognition, and brain function in older adults with depression. Through this work, Dr. Oberlin hopes to inform the development of scalable, accessible, and effective intervention strategies to promote cognitive and brain health in older adulthood. Her research has been recognized in numerous awards including the International Neuropsychological Society’s Excellence in Research Award and the Cornell Distinguished Award in Psychiatry Medicine.
