Professor of Medicine and Section Head, Section of Gastroenterology and Hepatology, Beaumont Health-Royal Oak, Royal Oak, MichiganDr. Jamil is a Professor of Medicine at Oakland University William Beaumont School of Medicine. He is the Section Head for Gastroenterology and Hepatology, and the Medical Director of Endoscopy at Beaumont Health-Royal Oak, MI. He earned his medical degree from the College of Medicine, Baghdad University. He completed his internal medicine residency as the chief resident at Hurley Medical Center/Michigan State University in Flint, Michigan; a gastroenterology fellowship at William Beaumont Hospital in Michigan; fellowships in hepatology/liver transplant and in advanced endoscopy at the Mayo Clinic.
His research pursuits have focused on therapeutic endoscopy, with a special interest for pancreaticobiliary diseases, and endoscopic mucosal resection of large polyps. Dr. Jamil has written articles on numerous subjects related to the field that have been published in peer-reviewed journals such as Gastrointestinal Endoscopy, American Journal of Gastroenterology, and Gastroenterology, among others.
