Wang is the Russ and Kathy Van Cleve Professor of Gastroenterology Research at the Mayo Clinic in Rochester, Minnesota, where he also completed his residency and fellowship in Gastroenterology. He is a former president of the American Society of Gastrointestinal Endoscopy and the International Society for the Diseases of the Esophagus. He has been continuously funded as a principal investigator by the NIH for the last 26 years and has published over 250 articles with an H-index of 65.
