Kelly C. Nelson MD, FAAD
Associate Professor, Department of Dermatology ,The Melanoma and Skin Clinic, MD Anderson Cancer Center, The University of Texas, Houston, TexasDr. Nelson is an Associate Professor of Dermatology with The University of Texas MD Anderson Cancer Center in Houston Texas. Dr. Nelson received her B.S. in Biology with a concentration in Medical Humanities from Davidson College, Davidson, NC, and completed her M.D., internal medicine internship year, dermatology residency training and chief dermatology year at the University of North Carolina Chapel Hill. Upon completion of residency training, Dr. Nelson joined the Duke University Department of Dermatology as the Director of the Pigmented Lesions Clinic, co-director of the melanoma multidisciplinary tumor board, and served as the Vice Chair of Clinical Operations from 2011-2013. Dr. Nelson joined the University of Texas MD Anderson Cancer Center Department of Dermatology in 2014, where she helps lead melanoma secondary prevention research, and is co-creator of the DERMatology Early Melanoma Detection virtual interactive education modules.
