Kelley Weinfurtner is a transplant hepatology fellow in the Division of Gastroenterology and Hepatology at University of Pennsylvania. She received her bachelor’s degree from the University of California- Berkeley, majoring in molecular and cell biology, prior to completing her medical degree and internal medicine residency at the University of California- San Francisco. She came to the University of Pennsylvania in 2018 first for general gastroenterology fellowship and now transplant hepatology. During her general GI fellowship, she was also a postdoctoral T32 research fellow in Terence Gade’s laboratory in the Abramson Family Cancer Research Institute. Her research focuses on developing patient-derived models of primary liver cancer as tools for translational therapeutics and precision medicine.
