Kavita Sharma MD

Kavita Sharma, MD, is the Clinical Director of the Lipid Clinics and an assistant professor of clinical medicine in the Division of Cardiovascular Medicine at The Ohio State University Wexner Medical Center. Dr. Sharma is board certified in cardiovascular disease, internal medicine and nuclear cardiology. She is a Diplomate of the American Board of Clinical Lipidology. She received her medical degree from Northwestern University Feinberg School of Medicine in Chicago, Ill. She then completed her internal medicine residency at Northwestern University McGaw Medical Center and her clinical cardiology fellowship training at Ohio State’s Wexner Medical Center. Dr. Sharma was chief fellow of cardiology at Ohio State’s Medical Center in 2010-2011. She is a member of the National Lipid Association and the American College of Cardiology. She sees patients in the OSU Cardiovascular Risk Reduction and Lipid Clinics and her primary research interests are in preventive cardiology, echocardiography and women’s health.
