Kathryn Hacker Gessner MD, PhD

Dr. Kathryn Hacker Gessner is a Society of Urologic Oncology fellow at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill. She completed her medical training in the UNC MD-PhD program, during which she obtained a PhD in Genetics and Molecular Biology. Following graduation, she completed urology residency at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill. Dr. Gessner’s research interests include the genomic characterization of genitourinary malignancies, elucidating the molecular alterations driving tumor development and growth, and implementing targeted therapy based on individual tumor characteristics.
