Karolyn A. Wanat MD
Associate Professor, Dermatology and Dermatopathology; Section Chief, Adult Dermatology, Medical College of Wisconsin, Milwaukee, WisconsinKarolyn (Kari) Wanat is an Associate Professor in Dermatology and Dermatopathology and Section Chief of Adult Dermatology at the Medical College of Wisconsin in Milwaukee. She completed medical school at the Washington University in St. Louis, followed by dermatology residency and dermatopathology fellowship at the University of Pennsylvania in Philadelphia, where she also served as chief resident and completed a complex medical dermatology fellowship. After residency, she was an Assistant Professor and Associate Program Director at the University of Iowa, during which time she also was fortunate enough to complete he Gorgas Course in Tropical Medicine in Peru and earn her Certificate in Tropical Medicine.
At the Medical College of Wisconsin, she practices complex medical dermatology, inpatient consults, and dermatopathology. She is passionate about increasing access to dermatology care to underserved populations both locally and abroad through her work in inpatient dermatology, global health, teledermatology, and medical education. She truly loves all of dermatology but is enamored with infectious diseases, any rashes, and also thinks granulomatous diseases are some of the most interesting.
