Karine Suissa PhD

She is a trained dietitian, obtained her PhD in Epidemiology at the Department of Epidemiology, Biostatistics and Occupation Health at McGill University and subsequently completed a post-doctoral fellowship in obesity pharmacoepidemiology in the Division of Pharmacoepidemiology and Pharmacoeconomics.
Dr. Suissa’s work focuses on using real-world evidence to research the safety and effectiveness of weight reduction medications and surgeries, and the modifying effects of obesity on the pharmacokinetics of antidiabetic treatments.
