Dr. Karen Fernandez received her medical degree from De La Salle Health Sciences Institute College of Medicine in Cavite, Philippines. She received her internship training at the University of the Philippines–Philippine General Hospital, San Juan, and undertook her ophthalmology residency at the University of the Philippines–Philippine General Hospital in Manila, Philippines. After coming to the United States, she completed research and clinical fellowships in cornea, external disease, and refractive surgery at Mount Sinai School of Medicine in New York.
