Juan Carlos Venis MD, MPH

He is an Assistant Professor of Clinical Family Medicine at the Indiana University School of Medicine where he completed his medical education. Dr. Venis completed his residency training at IU Health Ball Memorial Hospital in Muncie, IN and his Masters in Public Health at the Harvard TH Chan School of Public Health in Boston, MA.
Dr. Venis’ clinical practice and organizational service focuses on providing high quality primary care for vulnerable communities with clinical expertise on HIV prevention, the needs of the LGBTQ+ community, and providing gender-affirming medical care in an innovative multi-disciplinary transgender health program at Eskenazi Health.
Trained in public health, Dr. Venis is passionate about efforts to alleviate health inequities, and he strives to address these through advocacy and educational projects within his institution and beyond. Dr. Venis serves on the boards of the Indiana Academy of Family Physicians, OutCare Health, a national LGBTQ+ health resource, as well as his local HIV service organization, the Damien Center.
