Joyce Lee is an Associate Professor of Medicine at the University of Colorado Denver. Her research focus is on clinical and translational research in interstitial lung disease, in particular, idiopathic pulmonary fibrosis and rheumatoid arthritis associated interstitial lung disease and the relationship between the two conditions.
She completed her medical training at Northwestern University and went on to complete her pulmonary and critical care fellowship at the University of California San Francisco. As a fellow, she undertook coursework to gain expertise in clinical research and obtained a master’s degree through the UCSF Department of Epidemiology and Biostatistics. She was then recruited to the University of Colorado to head their interstitial lung disease program. She is NIH funded and has published in high-impact journals. Dr Lee has authored many original articles, editorials, reviews, and chapters in textbooks and has edited books and other online resources including UpToDate. She works as a medical advisor for the Pulmonary Fibrosis Foundation and is a member of the American Thoracic Society (ATS).
