Assistant Professor and Director of Dermatologic Surgery Education at The Perelman School of Medicine at The University of Pennsylvania, Philadelphia, PennsylvaniaDr. Sobanko is an Assistant Professor and Director of Dermatologic Surgery Education at The Perelman School of Medicine at The University of Pennsylvania. He has over 60 scientific articles and textbook chapters published or in press and is co-author of the book: "Safety in Office-Based Dermatologic Surgery".
His research, supported by the Dermatology Foundation through a Career Development Award, investigates the importance of physical appearance and how its alteration can significantly impact the lives of patients. Additional research interests of his include scar revision, laser skin resurfacing, and minimally-invasive cosmetic procedures, such as soft tissue fillers and botulinum toxin.
Dr. Sobanko lectures internationally and his expertise has been cited in media outlets such as Time Magazine, Reuters, NBC Today Show, and Los Angeles Times. Dr. Sobanko is the Cosmetic Surgery Section Editor of Current Dermatology Reports, sits on the steering committee for Academic Dermatologic Surgeons, and is a reviewer for peer-reviewed scientific journals such as Dermatologic Surgery and Lasers in Surgery and Medicine.
