Jonathan S. Weiss MD

Weiss, MD, FAAD, is an adjunct assistant clinical professor of Dermatology at the Emory University School of Medicine in Atlanta, Georgia. He is a co-managing partner and practices at Georgia Dermatology Partners, in Snellville and Braselton, Georgia, just outside of Atlanta. He performs clinical pharmacology research at Gwinnett Clinical Research Center in his Snellville office.
Dr. Weiss earned his medical degree from the University of Michigan in Ann Arbor, where he also served as chief resident in the dermatology department.
Clinical dermatology remains the focus for Dr. Weiss, as he maintains a full-time medical, surgical, and cosmetic practice. In addition, he oversees an active clinical trial unit studying a wide range of dermatologic conditions and pharmaceutical compounds, having been an investigator in over 230 studies. He has authored or co-authored over 95 publications in medical and dermatology journals, including JAMA, JAMA Dermatology, Pediatric Dermatology, the International Journal of Dermatology, the Journal of Drugs in Dermatology, and the Journal of the American Academy of Dermatology. Dr. Weiss is a reviewer and member of the Editorial Board of the Journal of the American Academy of Dermatology and a reviewer for several other medical journals. He has maintained an active clinical and research interest in psoriasis, topical and systemic retinoids, photodamage, actinic keratosis, skin cancer, acne, rosacea, infectious diseases, and cosmetic dermatology since the mid-1980s.
He is a past president of the Atlanta Association of Dermatology and Dermatologic Surgery, the Georgia Society of Dermatology and Dermatologic Surgery, and fulfills positions on the Board of Directors and Advisory Board for the Dermatology Foundation. He is also a member of the American Academy of Dermatology, the American Dermatological Association, the American Medical Association and the Medical Association of Georgia. He has been a Castle Connolly Top Doctor since 2001 and was honored as the Volunteer of the Year by the National Psoriasis Foundation in 2022.
