Johanna Ospel MD, PhD
Neuroradiology Fellow, University of Calgary, Calgary, Alberta, CanadaDr. Johanna Ospel is a neuroradiology fellow at the University of Calgary, Canada. Her main research interests are imaging and treatment of acute ischemic stroke, with a particular focus on interventional stroke treatment and imaging assessment of brain tissue viability in the acute stroke phase. She did her PhD on endovascular stroke treatment at the University of Amsterdam, the Netherlands and has co-authored more than 160 peer-reviewed manuscripts. She is a member of the ESCAPE NEXT core lab, co-investigator of the ESCAPE-MeVO trial, EVOLVE-Cog study and one of the PIs of the ESCAPE-OPTIMUS study. Johanna is also the Chief Scientific Officer of letsgetproof.com, a crowdfunding platform to accelerate stroke research funding.
