Jessica Mounessa is a research fellow in the Department of Dermatology of the UC-Denver Anschutz Medical Campus and a medical student at the SUNY-Stony Brook School of Medicine. 

As an undergraduate at Cornell University, she conducted research in the field of alternative medicine in the Department of Plant Biology. After graduating Magna Cum Laude in 2011 with degrees in both Biology and Society and Nutritional Sciences, she served as an Academic Associate for one year in the Department of Emergency Medicine of the North Shore-LIJ Health System in New York. 

Upon starting medical school in 2012, Jessica earned acceptance to the Scholarly Concentration Program: Research Track. Through this longitudinal program, she has been conducting research in the Inflammatory Diseases Section of the Winthrop University Hospital in Mineola, NY. Her most recent work focuses on the properties of biologics used for psoriasis and psoriatic arthritis. 

Ms. Mounessa is also an executive board member of the American Medical Association: Medical Society of the State of New York and a member of the American Academy of Dermatology. She has published numerous research articles and has been invited to present her findings at local and national levels.
