Dr. Jason Andrade is a Clinical Assistant Professor in the Division of Cardiology at the University of British Columbia as well as staff cardiologist and cardiac electrophysiologist at the Montreal Heart Institute. He is a graduate of McMaster University (BSc; Summa Cum Laude) and the University of Ottawa (MD, Magna Cum Laude). He followed his Internal Medicine residency and Cardiology fellowship at the University of British Columbia with a clinical and research fellowship in Cardiac Electrophysiology at the Montréal Heart Institute. Locally he is the head of the Vancouver General Hospital atrial fibrillation clinic, electrophysiology laboratory, and non-invasive electrodiagnostics. Provincially he is the medical lead for the provincial atrial fibrillation clinic, as well as an advisor of the provincial AF ablation outcomes review.

His specialty areas include the catheter ablation of complex atrial and ventricular arrhythmias including atrial fibrillation, and ventricular tachycardia, as well as the implantation and management advanced cardiac implantable device therapy (pacemakers, implantable defibrillators (ICDs), and resynchronisation devices).

Dr. Andrade has conducted research in his areas of specialization and has published more than 90 articles in leading peer-reviewed medical journals (including Heart Rhythm, The Lancet, The New England Journal of Medicine, The Journal of the American College of Cardiology, The Canadian Journal of Cardiology, The Journal of Cardiovascular Electrophysiology, Pacing and Cardiac Electrophysiology and Europace) as well as textbook chapters on atrial fibrillation ablation, pulmonary vein electrogram interpretation, catheter cryoablation, and cardiac implantable electronic devices.

In addition to these research pursuits Dr. Andrade has created best-selling medical applications for mobile devices. Serving as a reference for medical professionals of all levels of training the ECG guide has been recognised as an essential medical app by the American College of Emergency Physicians as well as the Georgetown University Medical School. In total Jason has authored or co-authored four successful apps including the ECG guide, the AF guide, Cardiocalc and Qx Calculate.

Dr. Andrade is affiliated with several professional associations including, the Royal College of Physicians of Canada, the Canadian Cardiovascular Society, the Heart Rhythm Society, and the Canadian Heart Rhythm Society, where he is the chair of the education committee for the CHRS.
