Professor of Medicine, Washington University School of Medicine, St. Louis, MissouriJanet McGill, MD, is Professor of Medicine at Washington University in St. Louis where she has been active in clinical practice and clinical research for over 25 years. Dr. McGill has been the principle investigator on numerous clinical trials studying the pathogenesis and treatment of both type 1 and type 2 diabetes, and has served on steering and safety committees for large trials. She has contributed original papers and chapters to the medical literature, and has edited the Subspecialty Manual of Endocrinology. She is a co-author of the AACE guidelines for the treatment of type 2 diabetes, and serves on the AACE board of directors. Dr. McGill has received both the Distinguished Clinician Award and the Alumni Achievement Award at Washington University.
