Jan Christoph Purrucker, MD, MSc, is a neurologist and emergency physician at the Department of Neurology, Heidelberg University Hospital, Germany. He is invovled in many clinical studies in the field of stroke research. His current research focuses on atrial fibrillation and stroke despite oral anticoagulants, as well as intracerebral hemorrhage in orally anticoagulated patients. Furthermore, his research encompasses preclinical emergency care of stroke patients at the interface to inhospital processes. Professor Purrucker is also a member of the European Stroke Organisation Guideline Board, and serves in the Guideline Workshop Committee since 2019.
