James A. Russell, DO, MS, FAAN, is a neurologist at the Lahey Hospital Medical Center campus of Beth Israel Lahey Health in Burlington, MA. He is a Clinical Professor of Neurology at the Tufts University School of Medicine. He was the founding director of the Curt and Shonda Schilling ALS Clinic at Lahey. He is the chairman of the Lahey Ethics Section and is the immediate past chair of the Ethics, Law and Humanities Committee (a joint committee of the AAN, ANA, and CNS). He is a member of the AAN sponsored Brain Death Working Group with longstanding interest in end of life considerations.
