James W. Russell, MD, MS, FRCP is a Professor in the Departments of Neurology and Neurobiology at the University of Maryland.  He is also Director of the Peripheral Nerve Center, University of Maryland and Associate Chief of Neurology in the VA-Medical Center, Maryland VA Health Care System, Baltimore, Maryland.  Dr. Russell’s research has focused on the basic mechanisms and the clinical management of diabetic neuropathy and other diabetic neurological complications.
