James Kearns MD
Assistant Professor, Department of Urology and Center for Outcomes Research and Evaluation (CORE), Levine Cancer Institute and Atrium Health in Charlotte, NCDr. Kearns is a physician-scientist and faculty member in the Department of Urology and the Center for Outcomes Research and Evaluation (CORE) at the Levine Cancer Institute and Atrium Health in Charlotte, NC. He is particularly interested in characterizing recent local trends in prostate cancer care with an eye toward identifying and addressing healthcare disparities. His goal is to use this information to develop and study tools that can be integrated into the electronic health record and used at the point of care to reduce disparities while increasing care delivery for all. Dr Kearns earned his medical degree at Columbia University’s Vagelos College of Physicians & Surgeons before completing his urology residency at the University of Chicago and Society of Urologic Oncology Fellowship at the University of Washington. Dr Kearns also maintains a clinical practice at Levine Cancer Institute, where he primarily cares for men with prostate cancer.
