Physician, Cardiology Division, Massachusetts General Hospital, Hutter Family Professor of Medicine, Harvard Medical School, Boston, MADr. James Januzzi is a Physician in the Cardiology Division at the Massachusetts General Hospital and Hutter Family Professor of Medicine at the Harvard Medical School; he also serves as a Trustee for the American College of Cardiology, where he recently participated on the writing committee for an Expert Consensus Decision Pathway Document for novel diabetes drugs in cardiovascular diseases, endorsed by the American Diabetes Association. He is a clinical trialist, on faculty at the Baim Institute for Clinical Research, and has published more than 500 peer reviewed manuscripts, reviews and book chapters in cardiology. He has served as principal investigator on numerous trials of therapies for heart failure and has been a part of numerous committees for recent cardiovascular outcomes trials in therapies for diabetes. He is presently on the steering committees for the EMPEROR-preserved and EMPEROR-reduced studies of empagliflozin in patients with heart failure.
