Heikki Joensuu MD, PhD
Research Professor, Academy of Finland; Director, Laboratory of Molecular Oncology, Biomedicum, Helsinki, FinlandDr. Heikki Joensuu is a specialist in medical oncology. He was nominated as the Professor of Oncology, Helsinki University, Helsinki, Finland, in 1994, and acted as the Physician-in-Chief and Medical Director of the Department of Oncology, Helsinki University Central Hospital in 1994 to 2009. He was elected as Research Professor of Academy of Finland in 2009, which is his current position. He is the Director of the Laboratory of Molecular Oncology, Biomedicum, Helsinki. Professor Joensuu has acted as the Principal Investigator in several collaborative group studies. He is a Fellow of the European Academy of Cancer Sciences.
