Harold Adams MD

Dr. Adams is Professor of Neurology at the University of Iowa Carver College of Medicine. He is involved in clinical research, patient care, and education. His research is focused on the diagnosis and treatment of patients with cerebrovascular disease. Among his contributions to both research and patient care are the NIH Stroke Scale and the TOAST classification of subtypes of ischemic stroke. He has had leadership roles in the Stroke Council of the American Heart Association, the American Stroke Association, and the American Board of Psychiatry and Neurology.
