
Hadley Wood MD
Assistant Professor at the Cleveland Clinic Lerner College of Medicine, Case Western Reserve University, Cleveland, OhioDr. Wood has been a staff urologist at the Cleveland Clinic since 2009 and currently is Assistant Professor at the Cleveland Clinic Lerner College of Medicine of Case Western Reserve University. She received her undergraduate degree from Duke University and Doctor of Medicine in 2003 from Johns Hopkins University School of Medicine. After training at the Cleveland Clinic Glickman Urological and Kidney Institute, she joined the faculty and is currently a member of the Center for Genitourinary Reconstruction. Her area of subspecialty is genitourinary reconstruction with a focus on adolescents and adults with urological congenital conditions. These include older patients with exstrophy spectrum, cloacal anomalies, and hypospadias, among others. In addition, she cares for adolescents and adults with congenital neurological disorders that have resulted in urological problems, like myelomeningocele, muscular dystrophy and cerebral palsy. She has developed a multidisciplinary clinic for adults with spina bifida at Cleveland Clinic and serves as an adult specialty advisor to the Transition Services Group of the CC Children’s Hospital.
In addition to full time clinical responsibilities and resident teaching, Dr. Wood has been continuously involved in clinical research and her work has been published in a number of peer reviewed journals. She serves as section editor for Urology and as associate editor for Annals of Plastic Surgery and as a peer reviewer for many other journals. She has written 9 book chapters related to her specialty areas, and has co-edited a textbook on Urological Congenitalism. She is physician lead for the the AUA Working Group for Urological Congenitalism and on the Physician Advisory Group of the Spina Bifida Association. She has been an active member of several societies, including the AUA, Society of Genitourinary Reconstructive Surgeons, Society of Urodynamics and Female Urology, American College of Surgeons, Society of Women In Urology, Cleveland Clinic Women’s Professional Staff Association, Ohio Urological Association, and Alpha Omega Alpha.
