Dr. Gunit Kaur Kahlon is a board-certified child and adolescent psychiatrist. She completed her medical degree at St. Matthew’s University in the Grand Cayman Islands in 2010. After graduation, Dr. Kahlon completed her general psychiatry residency in 2013 and then her child and adolescent psychiatry fellowship in 2015, both at Virginia Commonwealth University in Richmond, Virginia.

During her medical school and residency years, she was able to complete her master’s in health administration. She moved from Delaware to Fort Worth, Texas to continue to work with children & families in need. Dr. Kahlon has worked as a child and adolescent psychiatrist in outpatient since graduation, but this has been in a vast array of levels of care from outpatient to higher levels of care with the various child and adolescent populations. Those requiring outpatient services, intensive outpatient services, day treatment, crisis evaluations & services, trauma, foster care, children at risk, behavioral disorders, forensics in adolescents, autism and developmental disabilities, and multidisciplinary teams. And since starting at JPS, she has been part of the growth of the child & adolescent psychiatry division to help increase access to mental health care, including utilization of telemedicine and collaborating with primary care providers in the community.

Dr. Kahlon has been named “Top Doc” by Fort Worth Magazine and others. She is a member of the American Academy of Child and Adolescent Psychiatry and the Texas Society of Child and Adolescent Psychiatry. Also, Dr. Kahlon is the program director for JPS Child & Adolescent Psychiatry Fellowship, Adjunct Associate Professor at University of North Texas Health Science Center/Texas College of Osteopathic Medicine, and Associate Professor of Clinical Sciences & Psychiatry Clerkship Director at Texas Christian University (TCU) Burnett School of Medicine.
