Gregory K. Youngs MD
Assistant Professor, Department of Sports Medicine, John Peter Smith Hospital, Fort Worth, TexasDr. Youngs originally grew up in southwestern New Mexico where he initially obtained an undergraduate degree in kinesiology before pursing his medical education at the University of New Mexico. After graduating medical school, Dr. Youngs chose to pursue his family medicine residency at John Peter Smith hospital. Following his residency, he completed a sports medicine fellowship at JPS hospital where he was nominated co- chief fellow for his year.
He has experience working with athletes ranging all ages and abilities. In addition to having experience covering NCAA division 1 athletics, he has also served as a team physician for local high schools and the XFL Houston Roughnecks.He has provided medical coverage for USA gymnastics, the Womens Tennis Association and USA indoor track & field. He is currently on faculty as an assistant professor of sports medicine at the JPS sports medicine fellowship.
Dr. Youngs’ professional interests include musculoskeletal ultrasound, sports nutrition, exercise physiology, injury prevention and diagnostic/therapeutic MSK injections. In his spare time, Dr. Youngs can be found spending time with his wife and daughter or competing in marathon and endurance cycling events.
