She has worked in kidney transplant for over 13 years after receiving her Masters in social work at the University of Michigan School of Social Work. She is a Licensed Clinical Social Worker and Certified Clinical Transplant Social Worker. Ms. Chen is a member of the Society for Transplant Social Workers as well as the American Society of Transplantation Psychosocial and Ethics Community of Practice. She is the co-chair of the STSW Research Committee and the AST PSECOP Caregiver Toolkit committee. She is also a Region 4 Representative for the Organ Procurement and Transplantation Network Ethics Committee. Her research interests include the evaluation of psychometric assessment tools, health literacy, and understanding barriers in access to transplantation.
