Giorgina Barbara Piccoli MD
Head of Nephrology Service, Centre Hospitalier Le Mans, Le Mans, France; Associate Professor of Nephrology, University of Angers, Angers, FranceGiorgina Piccoli is a nephrologist, who studied medicine at the University of Torino, Italy, where she worked in different positions (lastly as aggregate professor and responsible of the Nephrology Unit in the san Luigi hospital, Torino). She is now head of the Nephrology Service in the Centre Hospitalier Le Mans, France and is associate professor of Nephrology in the Angers University. She has authored more than 400 publications, and is the present EiC of Journal of Nephrology, the international journal of the Italian Society of Nephrology.
After two high-risk pregnancies she developed a medical passion for pregnancy, its complications and CKD, and she’s deeply involved in personalized hemodialysis and pre-dialysis care, with particular attention to nutritional management. A crush for green nephrology is due to the serendipitous encounter with John Agar, between humanities and medicine. In the (too-short) free time she is a full-time painter.
