Dr. Kwan is a cardiologist and global health researcher developing expertise in the intersection between these two fields. His research stems from experience primarily in rural Rwanda and Haiti since 2008, in collaboration with local ministries of health and nongovernmental organizations. He studies local cardiovascular disease epidemiology; designs and adapts evidence-based and resource-efficient interventions to improve care; studies the implementation of complex interventions; and collaborates with government officials on strategic plan development and priority setting.
