Gaetano M. De Ferrari, MD is Associate Professor of Cardiology at the University of Pavia, Italy and cardiologist at the Fondazione IRCCS Policlinico San Matteo, Pavia, Italy, where he acts as Head of the Cardiac Intensive Care Unit and Director of The Cardiovascular Clinical Research Center.  

He has been working on the relationship between the autonomic nervous system and the heart, and on the risk stratification of patients after myocardial infarction. More recently he has been involved in studies on neuromodulation in patients with heart failure.
