Dr. Frans Van de Werf is Professor and Chair of the Department of Cardiovascular Medicine at the University Hospitals Leuven, Belgium. He has served as visiting professor at various institutions, including the Cleveland Clinic Foundation, Massachusetts General Hospital, Harvard Medical School, and the Mayo Clinic. He is a past recipient of the International Roche Chair in Cardiology and a past president of the Belgian Society of Cardiology.

Dr. Van de Werf’s research focuses on acute coronary syndromes, thrombolysis, and antithrombotic treatments. He is widely published and has served on the editorial boards of many journals, including New England Journal of Medicine, Circulation, Nature Clinical Practice, International Journal of Cardiology, and Coronary Artery Disease.
