Francisco A. Kerdel, M.D. attended the St. Thomas Hospital Medical School, London University, London, United Kingdom. He completed his dermatology residency at Harvard Medical School, Boston, MA. where he was chief resident during the year 1983-1984. He completed Fellowships at Guy's Hospital, London, England and New York University School of Medicine, New York, NY. He is the former Director of Dermatology Inpatient Unit at the University of Miami hospital, Miami, FL., and former Professor of Dermatology at the University of Miami. Dr. Kerdel is past President of the International Society of Dermatology. He is currently a clinical professor at Florida International University where he is also the Vice Chairman of the Dept of Dermatology. Society memberships include the American Academy of Dermatology, American Dermatological Association and Noah Worcester Dermatological Society. Dr. Kerdel has been chosen an Honorary Member of the Venezuelan, Argentinean and Chilean Societies of Dermatology and a corresponding member of the Venezuelan Academy of Medicine. Over 250 scientific articles, 37 books and book chapters have been authored by Dr. Kerdel. As an invited speaker, Dr. Kerdel has spoken at national meetings and at international meetings worldwide. He has been a visiting professor in the United States, Japan, Portugal, Italy, Australia, Argentina, Brazil, Chile, Spain, Paraguay, United Kingdom, Venezuela, Colombia, Uruguay and Mexico.
