Dr. Frank Marchlinski is currently the Richard T. and Angela Clark President’s Distinguished Professor of Medicine and the Director of Electrophysiology, University of Pennsylvania Health Care System. He graduated from and completed his postdoctoral internal medicine and cardiology/electrophysiology fellowship training at the University of Pennsylvania. He has authored or co-authored over 350 original articles and over 150 book chapters, reviews, and editorials on a variety of topics in cardiac electrophysiology.  His primary investigative efforts have been related to the characterization of the substrate and mechanisms of arrhythmias, efforts to improve ECG, imaging, and catheter based arrhythmia/ substrate localizing techniques, and efforts to create novel/improved ablation strategies for the treatment of atrial and ventricular arrhythmias.
