
Flavia Q. Pirih DDS, PhD, FACD
Diplomate, American Board of Periodontology, Associate Professor, Periodontics, Tarrson Family Endowed Chair in Periodontics, UCLA, Los Angeles, CADr. Pirih is an Associate Professor and Tarrson Family Endowed Chair in Periodontics at the UCLA School of Dentistry. After receiving her dental degree at Universidade Federal do Parana in Brazil, Dr. Pirih received a PhD in Oral Biology from UCLA. Upon graduation, Dr. Pirih completed residency in Periodontics from the University of Michigan. She is a Diplomate of the American Board of Periodontology, a Fellow of the American College of Dentists and currently serves as the vice-president of the American Academy of Periodontology Foundation. Dr. Pirih’s research focuses on understanding of the basic and clinical aspects of periodontitis and peri-implantitis, with the ultimate goal of developing new strategies to prevent and treat both conditions.
