Dr. Steger is a postdoc in the Department of Nutrition Sciences at the University of Alabama at Birmingham who studies nutrition and exercise interventions for chronic disease prevention and treatment. Current research interests include testing intermittent fasting regimens for the prevention and treatment of obesity, type 2 diabetes, and cardiovascular disease. Previously, Dr. Steger was a program coordinator at the Center for Physical Activity and Weight Management at the University of Kansas Medical Center where she developed and administered weight management programming, coordinated clinical trials for lifestyle interventions, and provided nutrition counseling and health education for both community and research programs.
