
Fabricio B. Teixeira DDS, MS, PhD
Endowed Professor and Chair, Department of Endodontics, College of Dentistry and Dental Clinics, University of Iowa, Iowa City, IowaDr. Fabricio Teixeira is Professor and Chair of the Department of Endodontics at the University of Iowa. Before coming to Iowa, he served as director of the Advanced Program in Endodontics at the University of Texas at San Antonio, where he obtained his Certificate in Endodontics. He received his M.S. and Ph.D. degrees from the State University of Campinas, Brazil, where he also served as Associate Professor. Before moving to Texas, he served as Associate Professor at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill and still maintains his Adjunct Faculty appointment.
Dr. Teixeira is a Diplomate of the American Board of Endodontics and currently serves as Director of the ABE and on the International Association of Dental Traumatology Board of Directors. He serves as a consultant of the American Dental Association for the Commission on Dental Accreditation. He is a member of the OKU National Dental Honor Society and a Fellow of the American College of Dentists and International College of Dentists. He served as Associate Editor of Endodontic Topics and is a member of the Editorial Board of Evidence-based Endodontics and Visual Endodontics. He holds a position on the Scientific Advisory Board of the Journal of Endodontics and serves as a reviewer on several other journals. He is actively involved in clinical research and has lectured nationally and internationally on several topics in his specialty. He has published multiple peer-reviewed articles, abstracts, and textbook chapters. He also maintains a private practice limited to endodontics in Iowa City.
