Dr. Wassermann is a neurologist and an investigator in the Clinical Neuroscience Program of the National Institute of Neurological Disorders and Stroke. His group studies learning and other aspects of brain plasticity in humans, with the goal of enhancing these processes.  His scientific background is in neurophysiology and behavior and he has been involved in the development of transcranial magnetic stimulation since almost the beginning.
