Dr. Leven is board-certified in internal medicine and is completing chief residency at Mount Sinai Hospital, where she will go on to complete gastroenterology fellowship training. Her clinical interests lie in immune-mediated gastrointestinal and liver diseases, as well as quality improvement. Her recent scholarly work examines outcomes in liver transplantation among older adults, liver-related risk stratification in end-stage heart disease, primary immunodeficiencies, and serum antibody responses to COVID-19. Her quality improvement work has focused on medication adherence and safety of inter-hospital transfers. The products of this work have been published in Lancet Microbe, Clinical Transplantation, Journal of Clinical Immunology, and BMJ Open Quality, among others. She was accepted to the American Association for the Study of Liver Diseases Emerging Liver Scholars Program in 2019.
