Elias Baedorf Kassis is an Intensive Care Unit physician and the Medical and Scientific Director of Respiratory Care at the Beth Israel Deaconess Medical Center and Harvard Medical School.  He has a clinical and research interest in the application of advanced physiological principles to developing personalized ventilator approaches for patients based upon their unique presentation.  His recent focus in particular is on application of esophageal manometry for assessment of safe ventilation parameters, improved phenotyping and detection of patient-ventilator dyssynchrony, and the application of closed loop and partially closed-loop systems to improve mechanical ventilation.
