Edward Wladis MD, FACS
Associate Professor in the Department of Ophthalmology, Lions Eye Institute at Albany Medical College, Albany , NYEdward “Ted” Wladis, MD, FACS attended Columbia University for his undergraduate education and received his MD from SUNY Upstate Medical University. He completed his residency at New Jersey Medical School (UMDNJ), and a fellowship in oculoplastic surgery at the University of Pennsylvania. Dr. Wladis is currently an associate professor in the Department of Ophthalmology, Lions Eye Institute at Albany Medical College, and is the program director for the ASOPRS-approved oculoplastic surgery fellowship.
In addition to providing care for the complete gamut of oculoplastic surgical issues, Dr. Wladis is actively engaged in both clinical and basic science research, and his investigations have received grant support from the Lions Eye Foundation and the National Rosacea Society. Dr. Wladis has been recognized by the American Society of Ophthalmic Plastic Surgery with the Marvin Quickert Thesis Award, the ASOPRS Research Award, and the Bartley Frueh Award, and has received the Achievement Award and the Best Paper Award from the American Academy of Ophthalmology.
