Professor of Medicine, University of Padua, ItalyDr. Edoardo Vincenzo Savarino received his Medical and Ph.D. degree from the University of Genoa, Genoa, Italy, in 2004 and 2009, respectively. From 2004 to 2011, he completed his residency training in internal medicine and fellowship training in gastroenterology, hepatology and endoscopy at Department of Internal Medicine, Gastroenterology Unit, Azienda Ospedaliera-Universitaria San Martino of Genoa. From 2006 to 2007, he was also a Research Fellow at Univeristy Hospital of Zurich, Switzerland. In 2011, he became Assistant Professor at University of Padua. Presently, he is Professor of Medicine. He is mainly interested in neurogastroenterology, motility and pathophysiology of gastro-intestinal tract. He has published extensively on gastroesophageal reflux disease (GERD), esophageal motility disorders, swallowing disorders, Barrett’s Esophagus, functional disorders (functional dyspepsia, irritable bowel syndrome), Helicobacter Pylori, achalasia, eosinophilic esophagitis, new methodologies of esophageal function testing, H2-breath tests and inflammatory bowel diseases. He received various prizes for his work from United European Gastroenterology Federation from 2007 to 2014, OESO foundation from 2008 to 2012, International Society of Diseases of the Esophagus from 2010 to 2014, Società Italiana di Gastroenterologia ed Endoscopia from 2007 to 2014. Dr. Edoardo Vincenzo Savarino is an ISDE, OESO, SIGE, SIED, GISMAD, ESDO, IG-IBD, ESNM and ECCO member. He is an Associate Editor of BMC Gastroenterology, World Journal of Gastroenterology and Diseases of The Esophagus. He is Reviewer for several journals, including American Journal Respiratory and Critical Care Medicine (AJRCCM), Digestive and Liver Disease (DLD), Gut, Alimentary Pharmacology And Therapeutics (APT), Clinical Gastroenterology and Hepatology (CGH), European Journal of Gastroenterology and Hepatology (EJGH), UEG Journal, Journal of Gastroenterology and Hepatology (JGH) and Neurogastroenterology and Motility (NMO).
