Dr. Derrick Tao is an immuno-oncology fellow at the Earle A. Chiles Research Institute at Providence Portland Medical Center. Following his undergraduate degree in chemistry from UC Berkeley, his work in translational cancer research at Brigham and Women's Hospital inspired him to attend medical school at Oregon Health & Science University, where he also completed internal medicine residency.

Dr. Tao's research interests include thrombosis and hemostasis, particularly cancer-associated thrombosis. He has published work in Blood, Lancet Oncology, JAMA Internal Medicine, and Journal of Thrombosis and Haemostasis.
