Ms. Deepaneeta Sarmah is currently a doctoral candidate in National Institute of Pharmaceutical Education and Research (NIPER), Ahmedabad, Gandhinagar, India. She is pursuing her doctoral degree in Pharmacology and Toxicology, where she is working to decipher the mechanism of mitochondrial protection in ischemic stroke following mesenchymal stem cell transplantation in rodents. Ms. Sarmah has over 25 peer reviewed publications primarily on stroke, stem cells and mitochondria.

Previously, Ms. Sarmah obtained her master’s degree in Pharmacology from Indian Institute of Technology (IIT-BHU), Varanasi, India.
