
Deepak Bhakta MD
Associate Professor of Clinical Medicine; Director of Cardiovascular Diseases Fellowship, Indiana University School of Medicine, Indianapolis, IndianaDr. Bhakta is a practicing cardiologist and cardiac electrophysiologist in Indianapolis, Indiana. A graduate of the University of Michigan Medical School, he completed his residency training at the University of Pittsburgh Medical Center, followed by cardiology and cardiac electrophysiologist fellowships at the Indiana University School of Medicine. His clinical interests include all aspects of arrhythmia management including catheter ablation and cardiac rhythm device management and troubleshooting. His educational and research interests focus upon electrocardiography, cardiac rhythm device malfunction, and anti-arrhythmic drug therapy and toxicity in special patient populations. He is an Associate Professor of Clinical Medicine at the Indiana University School of Medicine, where he serves as an educational specialist for medical students and residents, and is the current director of the Cardiovascular Diseases fellowship program. He is a fellow of the American College of Physicians, American College of Cardiology, American Heart Association, and Heart Rhythm Society, has achieved status as a Certified Cardiac Device Specialist.
