Dávid Tornai MD, PhD
Research Fellow, Division of Gastroenterology, Department of Internal Medicine, Faculty of Medicine, University of Debrecen, Debrecen, HungaryDavid Tornai is a medical doctor researching at the University of Debrecen in Hungary. His focus is on chronic liver diseases. He started researching in the second year of his medical studies as a Student Science Society member. Later he entered the Talent Nurturing program of University of Debrecen. After graduation he joined a PhD program aiming to find biomarkers for predicting the prognosis of liver cirrhosis. In January 2017 he moved to the United States after accepting a Post-Doctoral position at University of Massachusetts Medical School where he focused on alcoholic hepatitis. In 2019 the lab moved to Beth Israel Deaconess Medical Center, a Harvard affiliated teaching hospital where he spent the last half year before he moved back to Hungary to his home institute. Now he co-coordinates the research activity at the Gastroenterology Department.
