David A. Kaufman, MD, ATS Fellow, is a member of the faculty of the Division of Pulmonary and Critical Care Medicine at NYU. His interests include hemodynamic and respiratory monitoring as well as mechanical ventilation for complicated cases of respiratory failure. He has over 15 years of bedside experience in critical care medicine and he has contributed original research, commentary, and editorial service to numerous journals in the fields of respiratory and critical care medicine.  

Relevant COI: Dr. Kaufman has received grant support and travel reimbursement from Cheetah Medical (now part of Baxter) and he is a member of the Medical Advisory Board for Pulsion Medical Systems (a part of the Getinge Group), and Pulsion has provided stipends, speaking honoraria, and travel reimbursement. Both Cheetah and Pulsion manufacture hemodynamic monitoring systems.
